Over the weekend of October 29th, Sneakertopia launched our second pop-up location at the Chong Qing Jiefangbei Consumer Festival in Chong Qing, China!
The pop-up brought the Sneakertopia, Los Angeles experience to an entirely new setting and audience, with the same look and feel that fans have come to love.
Inside the booth, visitors learned the history behind the cultural phenomenon that is sneakers. The smaller-scale Sneakertopia featured artwork from David Kaul, Matthew Laurence Knott, Park Tyson, and the inclusion of many local artists from Chong Qing. In addition to receiving guided tours of the booth, attendees also had the opportunity to purchase limited edition Sneakertopia merchandise.
Keeping in theme with Sneakertopia’s track-record of displaying hypebeast sneakers: the Off-White Jordan 1 University Blue, Air Yeezy II Red October and Pure Platinum, “Chunky Dunky,” as well as several other extremely collectible kicks were visible in sealed cases. Considering how popular Yeezy, Dunks, and Off-Whites are right now, the star-studded lineup should not come as a surprise. The brands/silhouettes have been dominating the first-hand AND second-hand markets for some time now.
Prominent locals stopped by the Festival to check out the Sneakertopia installation. Over the three day event, City District Party Secretary - Mr. Zhou Shiqing, Singchem Chairman - Mr. Gho, and Orchard International Holdings’ CEO and AVP - Mr. Wu, Mr. Amy Zhang all paid the booth a visit! We cannot wait for the Sneakertopia brand to continue to grow overseas, stay tuned to the blog for more information about the full exhibition set to roll out in Asia.
